Wealthy Affiliate Does Not Work – I’m a Member, Why Would I Say That?

Of Course Wealthy Affiliate Does Not Work

wabannerI have been a member for about a year and a half at the time of this writing. I can honestly say Wealthy Affiliate does not work. Let me explain why I am making this statement. You would probably think that me being a member I wouldn’t say something like this about WA. Not only that, how come I haven’t quit if that’s my opinion?

I do have a reason and it is a good one. You’re going to love this trust me, and it probably isn’t going to be what you expect. Are you ready? Here it is…..I do all the work. WA provides everything else. I joined Wealthy Affiliate on the off chance they could help me learn how to make money online.

WA Teaches People How To Fish

Have you ever heard the saying “If you give someone a fish, it will feed them for a day. If you teach someone to fish they can feed themselves for a lifetime.” ? WA is a practical application of this scenario.

fastsnailWe live in a society where everything moves at a very quick pace. The internet reflects this aspect with the proliferation of Get Rich Quick Schemes. Not many want to learn how to make money for themselves. They want somebody to hand it to them with very little effort on their part.

The scoundrels who develop and try to sell these schemes make every effort to  exploit  this aspect of the human nature.  It is important to recognize this if you truly want to be a success.

Not A Get Rich Quick Scheme

dudeaWA does not promise you riches beyond your wildest dreams, fancy cars to drive around, mansions to live in and problems counting your money because there is so much of it. What they do promise, is to teach you the skills to learn how to make a decent living working online. Consider this:

Two people go off to college to earn their degree in whatever. We’ll call these people Dude A and Dude B. So anyway Dudes A and B start off in a similar manner i.e. classes, books, paper, pencils etc.( although these days it’s probably more like laptops , printers and paper for printing.)

Dude A works hard, studies all the time, attends all his classes and puts in the required four years ( or however many years are required ) Graduates with honors and earns his degree. He lands an excellent position gets paid well and has a successful career.

dudebMeanwhile Dude B is exactly the opposite, he wants to party and will not do the work. Enter Dude C. He says ” Look B you shouldn’t have to do all the work. You pay me X$ and I’ll do it all for you then you can walk across the stage and receive your degree like if you earned it. You’ll be all set.” Dude B falls for it and does exactly that. Goes to get a job, lands one, they find out he’s an idiot with no education, fire him and Dude B goes down in flames, never having earned a dime.

The Wealthy Affiliate  Complaints

pointingfinger.png.1Often times, disgruntled individuals will propagate the idea that whatever they have tried is a waste of time. More often than not it is their own personal failure that is the real issue. It is hard to admit you couldn’t live up to your own expectations. So they’re quick to point the finger at someone else. This type of person lives in a world of self-denial. Self-denial is never a good frame of mind to exist in.

karensmithMost complainers are like Dude B. They get involved with WA expecting to get rich quick like so many other B.S programs on the internet promise. Soon they realize it’s necessary to buckle down and do some work. lazy2They become disillusioned and are quick to blame it on WA and to say WA does not work, when in fact they themselves are the ones who do not work. These types are known as Lazy-asses and/or Cry-babies.

So no, WA does not work. For anybody. They teach you how to do the work yourself.

My Personal Invitation To You

Obviously you are interested in WA or you would not be here. That’s right. I know you’re interested. I’m not going to sit here and gush praises. platitudes and gratefulness for what WA has done for me. I don’t feel the need. The fact is, they did not write all these articles on my website, I did.

They taught me how. They didn’t put all their time and effort into making my website what it is, I did. They provided the website free of charge, and the hosting. But I made it look like I wanted it to look. In fact I have more than one.

If you are looking for some way to get rich quick or make money fast, you won’t find it here.

Unfortunately, once in a while an IP address is recycled. Kind of like getting a new phone number and for the first couple of days you get calls for somebody else. Perhaps if you try to sign up on another computer which has a different IP address. Once you do that you’ll be able to sign in on any computer you want as long as you enter your password.

Or if you have a laptop you could got to a different place like a coffee shop or library. Somewhere with a different IP address

If that doesn’t work, get back with me. I’ll see what other options are available to help you out.

Great post. I agree WA does not do all the work but gives you training. And you will work. I have been at it for over a year and still building my site. Yes its tough work and not for the squeamish. I would say the quit rate is high and probably comes at the 2-3 month for most. You really have to learn and treat this as a business or you will fail no doubt about it. Good info here and well written.

can I ask how much you can expect to earn a month

Although it sounds awfully cliché…only expect to earn based on how hard you are willing to work for it. And…unless you turn out to be an internet phenom, Then don’t realistically expect to generate $$$1000’s overnight.

    Polly,
Thank you for all of the detailed information you provided. Are you able to give me a ballpark estimate of the income potential that can earned using WA? Also, how many hours a day are you working?

Totally no problem Karen. Ballpark estimate hmmmm?

First off the sky is the limit. Like anything else you only get out of it what you put into it, but consider this: Over 2 billion people do their shopping online. I have a friend in Alaska who once told me “the only thing I buy locally is food.” and now she has found a way to do that online.

I know a guy who makes over 10,000 grand a month, but that took him a year of hard work and he was a full time student.

I myself make a full time income and I no longer have to work a “real job”. I’m not greedy. I am actually lazy and I don’t want to work a real job anymore. This is right up my alley.

Second, when I first started I worked at this a lot. At least an eight hour day, sometimes more but I was able to make my own schedule so I rarely worked 8 hours straight. After going hard at it for 1 1/2 yrs, I don’t work that hard anymore. I could make much more money if I did and eventually I will. But its more like 30 hours a week or so right now maybe. I mostly answer comments and just maintain the site.

    Hi Polly,
I can honestly say this is one of the best most well-written articles I’ve seen online about online marketing and learning how to earn online with an affiliate marketing business. This is a very very smart article. I love the references and you’re really right en pointe with the message here – you do the work! There’s no “system” that does work for you – and if so, that’s a system you built by yourself that you continue doing. I like that you really spelled that out in such a great way. Bookmarking your site and look forward to connecting with you more. Thank you for your valuable input and hard work in showing the world how it works.
    My best,
    Maria

Why thank you so much for the compliment. I had to write that article because I became weary of listening to people who want something for nothing. Even if someone were to hook into one of the many scams out there they would still hjave to work for it. Probably wouldn’t have much success, but they would still have to work for it.

    Polly,

I believe I have read everything on your site. Thank you for all the great information. I have not, as yet, built my first website, but I have taken many “free” courses on Internet Marketing, and I have watched a lot of You Tube Videos on teaching how to build websites. I feel that I am ready to build my first website. I have researched Wealthy Affiliate and cannot find anything but “positive” reviews. I am more than convinced that WA is the way to go for me. I will be signing up soon.

Thank You! for all this good information.

Beautifully written article Polly. And very clever and truthful. You had me worried there for a moment with your statement that “WA does not work”. But you are absolutely correct. I think if more people would adopt this mind set they would be more successful and they would would be less likely to fall for the get rich quick scams. Great job!

      Hey Roland,
Made you look huh? I appreciate the fact that you enjoyed reading my article and thanks for the compliment. I do believe what I wrote. Too many people are fooled into believing they can make money with no effort. Truly it is sad. Then adding insult to injury, they get angry when they realize they have been taken for a fool. If these people would just take a second and actually do the research they would save themselves time, money and emotional discontent. I feel badly for them and that is why I try to do my part by warning them and trying to provide guidance in the right direction. One can only do so much, you know? Thanks for stopping by. Don’t be a stranger!!

Thanks Doug. I am glad you enjoyed the read. I really hate it when others use this type of title in order to entice a reader and pique their interest and then the article turns into a review or something other than what the reader was looking for. Radical huh? Actually keeping in line with the topic? Thanks for reading and the well wishes.
