Work At Home Institute Scam Or Legit?

wahtop Work At Home Institute Review

I have provided an in depth review of this particular “program”  in order to keep you from getting sucked into this miasma of bull****. Hopefully, after reading this article, you will be able to decide for yourself if the Work at home institute is a scam or legit.

 My Research

Normally when I do a review, I try to get involved in the program (without damage) so I can give a more accurate review. This program has the nefarious distinction of one I actually did become involved with before I discovered something better.WAH

Now if you will notice,  I posted two images. Which one do you think is for the Work at Home Institute? Notice they are almost exactly the same? I say almost because if you click on the images you’ll see one requires a primary email and zip code while the other wants your phone number and email.steaming poop

That is because the one on the left is for Work At Home Institute scam  and the other is from the Work At  Home University scam. Same package, different wrapping. Unfortunately I didn’t discover that little gem until after the fact. The following is all about my personal experience with this steaming pile of  poo.

By the way; This is what it looks like now:

Work At Home Institute Scam Or Legit

 Wah Institute Overview

This program contains 10+ videos designed to teach about affiliate marketing. This nugget of information isn’t revealed until after you’ve shelled out the 97$. The videos make it seem really easy to get involved in affiliate marketing when it really isn’t. They cover three different ways to make money following three “easy” procedures. This what i saw in the first video:

In the first one, a website is required. They offer you a “Bonus” of a free website, but you have to pay over $200 for someone else to design and build it for you. How is that free, I ask you?

This step tells you to write articles for submission to websites where you can publish articles for free. This is known as content marketing. that include your affiliate link which is acquired after you join an affiliate program.

Step three  illustrates how to post affiliate links in classified ad listings.

In the second step they tell you to call some 1-888 number where you are supposed to receive a private consultation from a business professional. I called the number and left a message. When my call was returned the next day, all the person did was ask me what kind of credit rating I had, and that was the end of my personal consultation.

The program  contains further videos by a guy (I forget his name) who claims to teach all this for free because his new endeavor is helping people. His domain is which was sold at auction on Flippa two years ago.

 Pros VS Cons

  • They did refund my money (but they tried to talk me out of it first so I had to get a little fierce)

  • The 97$ is paid up front before they tell you what it is.
  • They propagate the idea that it is really easy to get involved in affiliate marketing.
  • I wasn’t able to contact the owner directly (I think she was fictitious)
  • I was rejected by every affiliate company I signed up for because I didn’t have a website.
  • Support system was a joke.
  • No free trial
  • Held back information with more detail unless I upgraded (mo money)

 WAHinstitute Tools/Training

toolsPuh-lease!!! I have to admit the videos are pretty and have some useful information, but it is information purchased from and not really original. There are approximately 40 videos and the more I watched them the more I was convinced I needed more knowledge on the art of building a website. That was never discussed. I was only referred to places where I could purchase a domain name (mo money) and obtain hosting (mo money). For instance I didn’t know:

  • What a  domain name is
  • What hosting is
  • What a DNS is and why it’s important

These are the three main points in having a live website, but I had to find that out for myself. As a result, all my attempts at making my own website failed miserably.

WAH Institute Support System

Another big Puh-lease! laughing smileyThere was an area called support where I could fill out support tickets to receive help on whatever issue was troubling me. I filled out exactly three support tickets and was promptly ignored. I had to call them on their support line (had to pay for the call too. mo money)  which closed after 8pm central standard time. This was of no benefit to me as I usually develop issues at three o’clock in the morning.

One other item they had at their support  site was a little box to toggle in order to contact Bobbie Robinson directly. When I did, I was informed that it was impossible to contact her directly but she had a whole lot of competent employees who were able to assist me with my issues.

So I’m thinking….If is impossible to contact “her” directly why put that little box there at all? Don’t they know it makes them look bad? That was pretty much the final straw. So then I asked for my money back (they provide a 60-day guarantee) in a support ticket, and after four days I ended up calling them. What I would like to know is… where is that slew of competent employees she has at her disposal?

So What Do I Think?

list spark reviewI don’t think I know. This “program is a complete waste of time. Not only will they try to take your money, they try to take more by using the so-called “financial expert”, “giving” you a “free” website, and other sinister useless upgrades once they get you inside to the members area. Don’t waste your time or money.

If You Really Want To Learn How To Make Money Online…

    Good Afternoon,
I find your review for a bit late. After I purchased this program.
You were right . It was very hard to get back the money. I was on the phone at least 15 minutes .
Finally when I did get really upset, he canceled the membership, and said it will take 7 days to get back the money.
He was very rude at the end as well. I hope I will get my money back.
That is the phone number to call if you want to get back your money: 877-915-5908
    Thank you for your review

  3. Jenn

Where I can find the phone number at to call and get a refund? My husband got sucked into this crap and we need to get our money back asap! Thank you..

Should be some kind of contact area in the members area of WAH. Try Support.

      1. Ebony Carroll

Hey i fell for it also please tell me that i can get a refund of my $97….???

      2. Polly Post author

Four years ago, i was able to get a refund from this particular product but I ended up having to call them. However, once I actually spoke to someone I did receive a full refund.

  4. Joyce Keyser

Hi Polly…Same thing happened to me. Paid the $97 and when I recieved the info of course they want more money in order for you to make money at it and it didn’t sound that SIMPLE as Bobby says…I paid Friday and Monday I’m calling to work on getting a refund. The ironic thing is I found you by going to the website they tell you to go to for your free website:) I’ll be checking out WA. Thanks for the info! Joyce

    1. Polly Post author

Well what do you know about that? My website referenced in a scam I wrote about. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. They should give you your refund. Just make sure and actually call them. Otherwise they’ll give you the runaround.

      1. Yakov

what phone number should I call to get refund?

      2. Jane Nelson

The one on the front page where you sign in is 1 – 877 – 915 – 5908. The one for “FREE CONSULATION” is 1-866-331-6811.

  5. Laurie

So that is what you are doing with this website, content marketing? People come to see reviews and you direct them to Wealthy affiliate and if they join then you got the sale and make money..kind of sounds like you are scamming people as well to make money..

    1. Polly Post author

Well, what exactly brought you to my website? Did you receive an unsolicited email from my website? I don’t think so. You probably received one from the Work At Home Institute. Or you found it because you are trying to figure out a way to make money online and you stumbled upon the WAH “website” which is actually just a squeeze page.

So you found them and you decided to investigate which brought you here. So let me ask you this…did WAH offer you a free trial to see if their system would work? No I know for a fact they didn’t. My mistake was in not doing proper research and I ended up paying for the privilege of discovering it was a scam. Fortunately, I was able to get my money back.

I found WA the same way I am offering it. Through a free trial offer. I decided this was legit. They didn’t try to blow smoke up my ass and tell me I would be making money in days, or that I would only have to work an hour or two a day. A credit card was not necessary for this free trial either.

Besides a scam is a misrepresentation of something in order to gain profit. I am not misrepresenting anything, whereas WAH is.

  6. Deborah

Wow! I stumbled upon the WAH ( work at home) site out of desperation. I was looking for a way to make $$ from home without a College education . My husband was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last year and I am an unemployed Esthetician/ Nanny presently. I watched the whole looong boring video and was almost covinced,. If it wasn’t for my own experience with scams and my parents wise upbringing. Their voice in my head saying, ” If it sounds to good to be true , it probably is”!! I decided to look into it further and googled it. I found your site. Thank goodness!
    Thanks for posting!

They had a 1-800 number. I tried sending emails, but I was ignored and never received an answer. So…I called them and I didn’t take no for an answer. They tried to talk me out of it, but I reminded them they had a refund no questions asked policy. You have to be firm and stand your ground.

  7. Frances Constantino

Did you have to pay for sending out a support ticket?

    1. Polly Post author

      Well Frances,
If you are asking in reference to the Work at Home Institute, then no, it didn’t cost anything. Calling them is what cost(i.e. the phone bill) I ended up having to call them because they never answered me.

  8. Gina Muller

If you are real. Send me a phone number including area code . Thanks Gina I have watched over 100 hours of this video and would liek to start linking website. Thanks

pd by MasterCard $97.00 ( no paid invoice as of yet)

I am real but there is no way I am sending personal information to you. It is illegal for me to email you directly from your email address entered on the comment form. And for security reasons i removed all the personal info you posted in this comment. I also don’t promote the Work At Home Institute program. I advise against it. So I can’t help you there except to advise you to get your money back before it is too late.

  9. Mary

I don’t have money to waste! Instead, need more to complete my budget. Please tell me the truth!!!

      1. Dee Dee

What a waste of time believing any of you are legit or can be trusted. Funny how all your posts are so old too. Nothing easy makes lots of money or other companies would have no employees. We’d all be working from home. Sheesh!

  10. Ruth Moody

OK, me too, all of the above. I slept on it over nite because I have a very small income. (that’s no throw away money.) I thank my good Lord I found you the very next morning. I need to learn something if I can at 76 years. I learned a lot from your writings. I did get caught up in a scam and was lucky enough to get out of it before they had me in their clutches. Please make it easy to follow you. I have a passion its my babies, Six cats and 3 dogs I must feed as they found me before they starved. Also, I need to get my bills paid off so my children will have less to go thru when I no longer am around this good old earth. What I would like is could give me those emails in the correct order I should open them by. I would so appreciate it asap. I would owe you with whatever I can afford to pay you. You were lucky and I hope and want try it myself . I know God put you in front of me this morning. as he did with all the people you have helped.

  11. Jacques

I almost fell for it, had all the info entered, all, then I decided to check them up, left the form on my computer, checked it with my phone… and wham!!! First time I got so close, thank you. I gave $50 to my church, now going to get with Wealthy Affilate, I have too much free time, need to do something new to fill my retirement. Shall let you know how it all pans out

    1. Polly Post author

Excellent! Good thing you stopped in the nick of time and put the money where it will actually do some good. Keep me posted on your progress!! I would love to hear from youi!!

  12. Patty Sible

Polly, Thank you for your review. I was about to give my credit card info when I decided to do a little more research. I found they had an F rating with the BBB even though they claimed to have an A+ rating with the BBB, on the Forbes sight; which is what drew me in. The story also ran on the news in the consumer report, with a favorable review. This probably drew a lot more people in. After seeing the F rating & finding your review & when I tried to leave the page it lowered the cost to $77 if I stayed & when trying to leave again it lowered the cost to $47. I ask myself how can something cost $97 5 minutes ago & the same thing now only cost $47. Definitely smells fishy. I accepted your personal invitation to WA, I am unemployed so I have plenty of time to do research, hopefully it will work out. Thanks again.

  13. Elaine Coker

I have learned the hard way to never sign up for anything until checking them out on Google. You can find plenty of Reviews and sorry to say but most everything on the Internet is a SCAM. I have read everything I can find on WA and I am very impressed. I have never built my first website, but I have taken Internet Marketing courses, lots of them, and have watched many many You Tube videos of those who have the know how on building websites. So, even though I have never put my learned knowledge to the test, I am ready to tackle that now. This was a very good Article and I loved how this person has explained and shown us pictures of how WA works.
Thank you for a very good Review.

    1. Polly Post author

      Hello again Elaine,
I just now finished my reply to your comment on my “Does Not Work” page.Thank you for your comments.

Yes you are correct unfortunately. The majority of the “make money online FAST!!” are of the scam variety, making it that much harder for new people to learn how to really make money online.

Just remember, once you’re there, I will help you as much as is necessary to help you achieve success!! I can’t wait to meet you Elaine!!

    1. Polly Post author

This is not where you would sign up for The Work at Home Institute. No, no, no. This is actually a review of my experiences with them. Didn’t earn a dime. Don’t recommend it either

    1. Polly Post author

First thing you need to know is that it doesn’t come easy. However I can direct you to a program that will help you with what you want to do. Affiliate marketing is often called content marketing. This is when you write articles that advertise a product for a company. if you achieve sales for this company( there are many ) you are rewarded with a commission. Now as to what I can do for you: I recommend learning how to become an affiliate marketer. In my opinion, the best way to do that is to look into the free trial at Wealthy Affiliate. ( No credit card required. ) This will give you the chance to evaluate and decide if it is what yyou are looking for. So I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to check it out free of charge and to make your own informed decision. I’ll be looking for you.

      1. Lilika84

The same thing happened to me as well! I’m waiting to get my refund. They sent me an e-mail with a confirmation that I’m getting money back. I didn’t give up from the Internet jobs but I am very careful now 🙂
Anyway, I’m ready to start all over again but without paying in advance. If the thing works like everyone says, and I actually earn money, then I will pay 🙂

      2. Polly Post author

Yeah, once it happened to me I was very careful from then on. Good thing I ran into WA.Now I earn money online just like I wanted to. By the way I noticed you joined up for the free membership. Congratulations!! I have sent a greeting to you and hope to hear back. Let me know if you need further assistance.

  15. Pedro Castillo

I guess this con site got me as well! I was fooled and not clear on what I was getting into and shelled out my last $97 bucks! All I know is that I started this a few months ago after I lost my job, desperately seeking any type of income source. I got sucked into the scam tube vacuum as many have. I have not requested a refund yet and this should be interesting on how many people I will go through for my $97 refund, probably spent on cocktails and shrimp on one particular night after they received my cash! I guess shame on me! I will certainly look into your Wealthy Affiliate program. Thank you!

    1. Polly Post author

Pedro I am very sorry it took me so long to reply to your message. I am pleased that you enjoyed my article. You know that’s how they get you. They promise you lots of money for little or no work’ and they don’t even tell you what it is you are paying for. They know if they give us too much information from the get go, we won’t be forking over our hard earned cash. Nothing worth achieving ever comes easy. we have to be willing to work for it. Even in Wealthy Affiliate this is the case. The big difference is we get to try it first, and nobody there will try to pull the wool over our eyes. I really hope you give it a serious chance.
